IQNA – The Zionist regime is desperately seeking to disintegrate the region’s axis of resistance and separate resistance groups in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, an Iraqi political analyst said.

Iraqi analyst Ali Nasser

Ali Nasser made the remark in an interview with IQNA, following the recent regional developments in the region, especially in Syria.

He stressed that the resistance front continues to enjoy great power and can keep acting as a unified entity and thwart the enemy plots.

Regarding the activation of terrorist groups in Syria, he said the terrorists are supported by the Israeli regime and the US.

He stated that the Zionist regime, which has been dealt severe blows by the resistance groups, has been planning to incapacitate the axis of resistance.

“I think the current situation in the region and following the ceasefire in Lebanon is very important for the axis of resistance. The Zionist regime is deliberately seeking to push the region toward war. Even in southern Lebanon, the regime has violated the ceasefire. So currently it is very important to help and support the axis of resistance.”

He said Muslim countries should strive to foil the Israeli plots for the region, including the one in Syria.

“Muslim countries should unite and help Syria in the current difficult conditions,” he stressed.

Nasser also criticized certain Arab media that spread misinformation and act in the interest of the Zionist regime to fan the flames of crises in the region.

“I believe that in the current conditions, the media play a major role and have a heavy responsibility as they should spread the message of peace,” he underscored.

Syria has been gripped by foreign-sponsored militancy since March 2011, with Damascus saying the Western states and their regional allies are aiding terrorist groups to wreak havoc in the Arab country.
